Assisted Chest Dip
How to Do:
- Set Up: Position yourself on an assisted dip machine. Set the weight to your preference (the heavier the weight, the more assistance you’ll get).
- Starting Position: Step onto the platform and grasp the dip bars with your hands shoulder-width apart, palms facing inward. Place your knees or feet on the assist platform, and ensure your body is fully extended.
- Lower Your Body: Slowly lower your body by bending your elbows and leaning forward slightly. Keep your elbows close to your sides and descend until your shoulders are just below your elbows or you feel a stretch in your chest.
- Push Back Up: Push through your palms, straightening your arms to return to the starting position. Exhale as you press up.
- Repeat: Perform the desired number of repetitions while maintaining good posture and controlled movements.
Benefits:
The assisted chest dip is an excellent exercise for targeting the lower portion of the chest, triceps, and shoulders. By using assistance, you can perform the movement with proper form while building strength, particularly if you're working on building the necessary strength for unassisted dips. It’s a great option for beginners or those aiming to increase their dipping ability.
