Diamond Push-Up
How to Do:
- Setup
Begin in a high plank position with your hands directly beneath your chest. Form a diamond shape with your hands by bringing your thumbs and index fingers together.
- Body Position
Align your body in a straight line from head to heels. Engage your core and glutes to prevent sagging or arching in your lower back.
- Lower Your Body
Inhale and bend your elbows to lower your chest toward your hands, keeping your elbows close to your body. Lower as far as your flexibility allows without losing form.
- Push Back Up
Exhale as you straighten your arms to push your body back to the starting position. Focus on squeezing your triceps during the upward motion.
- Repeat
Perform the desired number of repetitions, maintaining a controlled motion throughout.
Benefits:
The Diamond Push-Up is a highly effective bodyweight exercise that targets the triceps while also engaging the chest, shoulders, and core. Its close-hand position places more emphasis on tricep activation compared to standard push-ups, making it ideal for building arm strength and definition.
